Pac Rom keeps Loading without any progress at all
#1
Hi Guys

i own a Sony xperia Pro (iyokan) and have just recently flash the Boot.img of the latest release and flashed the rom with the help of the recovery menu. After switching the device on, the boot animation plays and the loading-screen kepps loading for over 20 minutes without any change. The same happens with any of the nightlys available.

Any idea how to fix that. i would like to try Pac Rom so bad.
Thank you very much

Did you do a factory reset in recovery before flashing the ROM?

If you were on a 4.3 or earlier ROM, you also need to format system then data then cache

Hi Langes,

okay i did the following steps (wrote them down to avoid failure)

- wipe data / factory reset
- wipe cache partition
- format system
- format data
- format cache
- wipe dalvik cache
- install Pac Rom 4.4 alpha 1
- have not flashed gapps yet

After rebooting and showing the boot animation it keeps "loading" as before.
Nothing changed !

thanks in advance

Mmm, the loading part can take 10 to 20 minutes, how long did you leave it for? And you did flash the included kernel (boot.img) via fastboot /adb?

EDIT: I see you did this already. Did you try a different release? Did you check the md5sum of the download?

If all else fails, it can help to flash a stock image (ftf) first and then start over with flashing the kernel and formatting etc.

Good luck

Hi Langes,

Flashing the stock image and flashing the kernel did the trick.
thank you very much.

the only thing i wonder about is, which version of gapps i need to install
with the alpha 1 and where to download. Can you help me here, too ?

Thank you very much.

This forum has a development section, in there is the official 4.4 thread. Somewhere in the OP is a link to the gapps I use. Basically any 4.4 gapps should work, although PA gapps is too big for our phones
